WEDNESDAY PM ANNOUNCEMENTS – SEPTEMBER 18, 2019

The GSA will be having their first meeting this Thursday, September 19th in room 10/11. Allies and LBGT members alike are welcome to join us. There will be a game to play and new officers to introduce for this new year. Be sure to join us and bring a friend!

 

Homecoming court voting begins today and will go until Thursday at 1:00 so get those votes in!

Key Club will meet Friday, Sept 20th after school in room 45. All are welcome.

 

Homecoming is next week!  Monday, September 23 features the Junior girls vs. Senior girls in the homecoming Powder Puff  football game!  Come on down to the Marshfield High School
Kenneth & Ardyce Heiting Community Stadium  to cheer on your favorite team.  Game time is 7:00.  Cost is $3 at the door, $2 if you bring a hygiene donation.  Proceeds will benefit the Marshfield High School Softball team.  Hope to see you there!

 

FFA members interested in participating in the trip to World Dairy Expo on October 1st need to pick up a permission slip from Mr. Heeg or Mr. Zee.  Permission slips and the $10 fee for the trip are due on September 25th.

 

SkillsUSA will have their first meeting TODAY Sept. 18th in room 82 after school. Come to learn about the many different skill-based competitions you can get involved with. Meeting will be 3-4pm. Talk to Mr. Henderson if you cannot attend.

 

The first NHS meeting of the year will be TODAY, at 3:05 in the Lecture Hall. Please bring a canned food item or $1.00 for attendance.

 

A reminder that Code Club will be celebrating an open house this week Thursday and Friday after school until 4 pm. No Computer Science experience required. All are invited to come and go as your schedule allows. Grab some of the best generic refreshments on the planet and sign up to join our float in this year's homecoming parade. See you after school tomorrow and/or Friday!

 

AP Students: Mrs. Guldan will be in the lunch room next week Thursday and Friday to answer any AP exam questions or to assist with any problems with your myap website.

 

AP Students- AP exam registration has kicked off! To avoid any late fees, you must complete the two step AP exam process by October 30. Once again the Blanchard AP scholarship will be available for students with financial need to apply to. Scholarship applications can be picked up from your AP teacher, the counseling office or the AP website. The application, which includes the FAFSA4caster results is due in the counseling office by Friday, October 4.

 

A reminder from the Testing Center; All students must have their student ID with them in order to complete assessments in the Testing Center.

 

There will be a Yearbook meeting tomorrow, Thursday September 19th in room 28 @ 7:00 am. All are welcome!

 

Interested in the health or medical field? Come to our next HOSA: Future Health Professionals meeting this Thursday in room 45 at 7:30am. If unable to attend, see Ms. Marshall.

 

Marshfield High School participates in a number of jeopardy-style academic science bowl competitions each year and we generally have several teams competing. Over the years, our successes in these competitions have taken us to Alaska, California, Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Panama. If you are interested in participating or would just like to learn more about these competitions please attend an informational meeting this Wednesday after school in room 6. If you are unable to attend let Mr. McFarlane know that you are interested
