Spanish Club Members: We will finish decorating parade banners tomorrow. Please bring a bag of candy for the parade if you are able. We will meet at the fair grounds at 4:30 for the parade, and I will bring the banners. Hope to see you there!

 

The Tallies for the Money Jars for Homecoming Food Pantry Donations are currently as follows:

Seniors                         $ 103.66

Juniors                         $   81.54

Sophomores               $  32.01

Freshman                    $  13.00

 

Last year we raised over $1500! Let's keep up the donations for this great cause! Contributions can be made during lunch hours or at athletic events.

 

Students in Cast or Crew in Drama Club who are interested in going on the Drama Club field trip to the Appleton Performing Arts Center to see 'Something Rotten' on Oct. 26th are reminded to turn in the $20 down payment to secure your ticket to show by Friday, Sept. 28th. The final $35.00 is due by Oct. 25th. Hand in money to Mrs. Leurquin in room 1 by the end of the day Friday, and get a permission slip from her as well. We cannot guarantee you a ticket without a payment. See Mrs. Leurquin if you have any questions.

If you have any questions, please see either Mr. Carroll or Matthew McEwen. And if you think the ukulele is a silly instrument, remember the original word for the ukulele was machete.

New Announcements:

Ms. Giordana's classes are cancelled today. During periods 1-3 & 8-9 students in grades 9& 10 should report to the LMC and students in grades 11 & 12 are to report to the commons. During Periods 4-7 all students are to report to the LMC.

Students riding the bus on Friday morning will need to enter the building throught DOOR 24 on the north side of the commons, as the academic wing will not be open until 8:30 am. Please plan accordingly

 

The weather forecast for Friday morning this week is mix of clouds and sun early with a high near 55. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the homecoming morning activity you signed up for.

 

There will be no early bird classes tomorrow, Friday, September 28th

Attention FFA members:  Signup sheets and permission slips are in room 80 for the World Dairy Expo trip on October 2nd and for the FIRE Leadership Conference on October 13th.  Deadline for turning in permission slips and money for those trips is Wednesday, September 26th.

The Homecoming Food Pantry Fund Raiser Competition is off to a slow start with the FRESHMAN carrying a strong lead with $12, SOPHMORES have $9, SENIORS have $7, and JUNIORS are trailing with $1.25. We can do better. Last year we raised over $1500! Contributions can be made during lunch hours or at athletic events.

This assessment simulates the format and timing of the ACT Plus Writing and will provide you with a detailed report on how you can prepare the February test. Sign up for the PreACT is in the MAIN office with Ms. Bishop starting today. The fee is $13. Contact your counselor, Mr. Roeglin, or Ms. Bishop if you have questions.

In the spirit trophy contest, with the most amount of participation at 81% the staff has earned 243 points, students you need to step your game up. In 4th place with 50% participation and 149 points is the Juniors. In third with 52% participation and 155 points, the Freshmen. Second with 54% participation and 161 points, the Seniors. And currently in the lead with 56% participation and 167 points, the Sophomores.

Students interested in joining FFA this year should turn in their $15 dues to Mr. Zee or Mr. Heeg in their classrooms and pick up your t-shirt.  Also, FFA members and those interested in joining are encouraged to come to our first FFA meeting of the year, which will be Monday night from 5-8 pm at school forest.  A hay ride, pumpkin painting, outdoor games, and a chili feed will be the activities for the night along with a short meeting updating everyone on upcoming activities.  See you there!!

ATTENTION JUNIORS! One of the best ways to prepare for the required ACT test, coming up in February, is to take the official PreACT on October 30. This assessment simulates the format and timing of the ACT Plus Writing and will provide you with a detailed report on how you can prepare the February test. Sign up for the PreACT is in the MAIN office with Ms. Bishop starting today. The fee is $13. Contact your counselor, Mr. Roeglin, or Ms. Bishop if you have questions.

A rep from Ripon College will be in the counseling office on Tuesday at 9:00 and a rep from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire will be here at 10:30 on Tuesday as well.

The special education students are making protein shakes for their restaurant The Shake Shack. The flavor of the week is Apple Cobbler. We will be down in the commons from 10:30-12:00 on Friday September 28st. A $5.00 donation would be appreciated per shake. Proceeds benefit the students! Hope to see you there! Bring your friends.

A mandatory parent meeting for the fall play is Wednesday, Sept. 26th in the auditorium from 5:30-6:00PM. Cast and crew parents are asked to attend. If your parent cannot make it, please attend to get the necessary materials.

 

FCCLA will be creating a float for the Homecoming parade. Any FCCLA members who are able to help on Wednesday after school and volleyball practice, we will putting decorations together in the foods lab.

 

 

Students interested in joining FFA this year should turn in their $15 dues to Mr. Zee or Mr. Heeg in their classrooms and pick up your t-shirt.  Also, FFA members and those interested in joining are encouraged to come to our first FFA meeting of the year, which will be Monday night from 5-8 pm at school forest.  A hay ride, pumpkin painting, outdoor games, and a chili feed will be the activities for the night along with a short meeting updating everyone on upcoming activities.  See you there!!
