Tiger History was made on the wrestling mat last night as the tigers defeated Wisconsin Rapids for the first time since 1958 with an impressive score of  68-6.  The tigers won all but two matches.  The tigers had 8 pins by Shane Westerhausen, Caden Pearce, Conner Peterson, Sam Bauman, Caden Dennee, Anthony Kanable, Bently Ostermann and Alex Brost.  Same Mitchell and AJ Leonhardt won by decision and Brayden Richardson had a major decision. Tanner Kanable won by forfeit. Congratulations MHS wrestlers, Coach Hein, Coach Strobel, Coach Karl and Coach Blaskowski. The tigers are now 2-0 in the conference.

The Journalism Club will be having a guest speaker, from Explore Marshfield come in to talk about careers in journalism on Thursday, January 5th after school.  Anyone is welcome to come and listen, we will be meeting in room 10/11, and pizza will be provided.  This is a great opportunity to learn about modern journalism and writing as a career.

It doesn’t take much effort to do something kind for others.  Marshfield Clinic and Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth- Youth Initiatives remind you to Pour it Forward during this holiday season.  We hope you enjoyed the warm drinks and Dunkin Donuts as our reminder to be kind to one another.

 

Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth- Youth Initiatives is a group of student representatives from Marshfield High School and Columbus Catholic High School working to prevent substance abuse and bullying.  If you are interested in becoming a part of Youth Initiatives, fill out a Youth Initiatives application located on the school website. Most importantly, have a Happy Holidays!

In an effort to raise awareness and prevent bullying at Marshfield High School, MACY Youth Initiatives will be hosting a Pour it Forward event tomorrow morning before class.  Pick up a free hot chocolate, mocha or cappuccino and bring money for a $1 Dunkin Donuts sale.  Money raised will support Youth Initiatives substance abuse and bullying prevention efforts.

 

Ugly Sweater season is approaching!  On Friday, December 23rd we will have a kick off to the holiday season by sporting ugly sweaters, santa hats, reindeer horns and elf hats.  Remember that you can’t cover your face in process of participating in this event.  Get into the holiday spirit and find that perfect ugly sweater for this holiday season.

Thank you to all of those that participated in the food service taste test a couple weeks ago.  Due to the positive response to the new whole wheat flour, we will be switching all of our homemade bread products to the new 100% whole wheat white flour.  The best part is that the new grain is still 100% whole grain and contains the same nutritional value as the previous.  This week you can expect to see the new product on the lunch lines.

Anyone interested in ordering Knitting Club T-shirts or Sweatshirts (as seen on the pink signs around the school) can order from Ms. Gutting in Room 21. T-Shirts are $10, CrewNeck Sweatshirts are $20.

There will be a meeting for any Rodeo Club members on Monday, December 19th at 3:00pm in room 50. We will be discussing aparel and the trip in April.

 

Attention French students: Please bring your Buche (boosh) de (duh) Noel (Nohwell) to your French classroom by 7:35 a.m.  on Monday, December 19. The judging for the annual buche (boosh) competition will begin at 7:45 a.m. Prizes will be given for 1st ,2nd and 3rd places. Let the bake off begin.

Anyone interested in ordering Knitting Club T-shirts or Sweatshirts (as seen on the pink signs around the school) can order from Ms. Gutting in Room 21. T-Shirts are $10, CrewNeck Sweatshirts are $20.

Science Olympiad will meet Sunday from 4-5 NOT 4-6

 

Mid State Technical College will be hosting an event called "Apply to Mid State Day" today, Friday in the Counseling Office during the lunch hours.  If you are thinking of applying then this day is for you!  Mid State will be waiving all fees as well. 

 

Attention FFA Members, our December meeting will be held on Monday, December 19th at 6:30 PM at Melody Gardens! The cost is $3 to attend. We will have pizza, pop, and ice cream AND an UGLY sweater contest with prizes for 1st and 2nd place! See you all there!

 

Attention FFA Members. Fruit Sale money needs to be turned into Mr. Zee or Mr. Heeg by the end of the day Monday, December 19th!

 

Auditions for the musical will be held Monday, Dec. 19th from 3:30 to 5:00 in Room #1 and Tuesday, Dec. 20th from 5:30-8:00 in the Orchestra Room. Interested students should attend the meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 14th or see Mrs. Leurquin in Rm. 1

 

SOS is sponsoring a supply drive for the Transitional Shelter in Marshfield.  The shelter needs personal care items, such as toothpaste/toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, trash bags, deodorant, and any other cleaning/hygiene items.  Please bring these items to the counseling office this week and make a difference this holiday season.
